This exhibition, organised for the centenary of the death of Franz Joseph, retraces some of the Emperor’s visits to Trieste and Miramare, the guest in the home of his brother Maximilian.
The works on show recount the various episodes through the news published in the newspapers at the time, ‘snapshots’ of Franz Joseph’s presence on public and private occasions, events that testify to the centrality of Trieste as the empire’s modern city.
The family reconstructs the family relationships of the two protagonists of the House od Habsburg.
