Trieste will be the European capital of Science in 2020. After Matera, European capital of Culture in 2019, this is another reward for the Italian excellence. Trieste gained the Esof2020 thanks to its University and scientific institutions, such as Sissa and Sincrotrone, the Oceanografy Institute and the Genetics and Biotechnologies Center.
